Brief club history

 •
The club was formed in 1971 with Packie O’Donnell as the manager. We entered the Donegal Junior League in 1972. The first trophy we won was the IAWS cup in 1972/73 with John O’Donnell, manager, assisted by Richie Kelly. Stevie Wilkinson was the scorer. Our reserves under Dessie Kelly won the Saturday league 2nd Division in 1994/95. We won the Sunday Division one in 2006/07 and 2009/2010 as well as the Brian McCormick cup in 2007/08 under Jason Gibson. We won it again in 2015/16 under Keith Hegarty. We won the Division 2 title in 2022/23 under Vinny Mc Laughlin. We started up a Schoolboys Section in the early 2000’s through Gerry Gallagher and Philip Connolly. We have won various trophies at local level. We formed a women’s section and our biggest success was when we won the WFAI Intermediate cup in 2010 when we defeated Eureka, Kells, 1-0 in the final, with Nikita Burke scoring. Brid McGinty was the manager. We won the WFAI Junior Cup a few season later with Amber Barrett scoring. Amber went on to score the goal which qualified Ireland for the 2023 World Cup. Ciara Grant , who was also in the World Cup squad, played for us for a number of years.
