ABOUT THE COACH

Helder Dos Santos Silva — Football Coach & Technical Director

I'm a Portuguese football coach and former professional player with more than 17 years of international coaching experience across Portugal, England, China, Poland, the Netherlands, Russia and Australia. A UEFA Elite Youth A Licence holder, he brings a rare blend of elite academy expertise, senior first-team leadership and cross-cultural understanding, and speaks eight languages.

My career includes work within the Crystal Palace FC Academy in England and five years as Head Coach and Technical Director in Meizhou, China, a city and culture with which his name remains closely linked. Most recently, he spent four seasons as Head Coach and Technical Director of Riverside Olympic FC in NPL Tasmania, where he guided the club to a 6th-place finish, its best NPL season in history, achieved in a year when two teams were relegated. He also led the club to two Lakoseljac Cup semi-finals.

My teams are known for an aggressive, front-foot identity: a 4-3-3 built on width and attacking intent in possession, and a high, intense press designed to win the ball back up the pitch and punish opponents quickly. He places great value on mentality, intensity, fitness and thorough pre-season preparation, while his development work is grounded in the belief that technical fundamentals come before tactical knowledge.

Above all, my coaching is guided by one principle: "People First, Players Second." He builds environments where players grow as people as much as athletes, united in the spirit of Cor Unum — One Heart.
