ABOUT THE COACH
The experience behind the work.
I grew up in Cape Town, South Africa. I played Rugby and Cricket since I was 5. I played 1st Team Rugby and Cricket all through my school career. Then I played district club cricket in South Africa. I was an opening fast bowler and no 6 batter.
At age 22, I finished my Sport Science degree and Postgraduate degree in Education and started coaching 1st team cricket and rugby at a high school in Cape Town as the school’s Head of Sport and Head of the Physical Education department. I also lived in Shanghai, China for 3 years as an International English Teacher.
After returning from China, I started working as a senior coach at a cricket academy in Cape Town. After 2 years, I was recruited to be the head coach and director of Gary Kirsten’s well-known academy in Chennai, India known as GKCI Gary Kirsten Cricket India. I managed the academy as Head Coach for 2 years before returning to Cape Town to finish my immigration to Australia.
I’m now a permanent resident, living in Adelaide. I’m a senior coach at Joe Gatting’s Academy, while I also coach part time at Saint Ignatius College and I’m the development coach for Tea Tree Gully District Cricket Club.
Lastly, I’m a Cricket Australia level 2 coach and I’m qualified and experienced as a bowling, batting, fielding and wicket keeping coach, although I specialize as a Mental Conditioning Coach, and High Performance Head Coach with outstanding communication and organizational skills. I love entering an environment and evolving it from a standard or mediocre performance environment into a super efficient High Performance environment and professional culture.
