BIO

My name is Amy Boyd, I’m a 26-year-old Irish centre back currently playing for Letterkenny Rovers. Standing 5ft 6in, I’m a right-footed defender known for being strong in the tackle, aggressive when needed, and a natural leader who can organise and read the game. I’ve previously played for Derry City Women, Lagan Harps, and Bonagee United, where I was proud to be named Player of the Year, Top Goalscorer, and also honoured as LYIT Captain and LYIT Sports Star. My background in GAA has also helped me develop strength, versatility, and fitness that I bring into football.

My goal is to become a consistent top-level defender in a leading league, known for leadership, tactical intelligence, and reliability under pressure.

I’ve had the privilege of coaching Amy Boyd for several seasons, and I can confidently say that she is one of the most dependable centre-backs I’ve coached. Her ability to read the game she always seems to be in the right place at the right time, intercepting passes or breaking up dangerous attacks. Amy is calm under pressure she plays with composure, whether that’s making a crucial clearance or stepping forward to break up a counterattack. Amy is also a leader on the pitch, she keeps the backline organised and communicates well with the rest of the team.
