Nathan is an incredibly hard working midfield player who can perform duties on both sides of the ball. Out of possession, he has a good ability to cover ground and times his tackles well to break up opposition play and win back possession. With the ball, he is technically good and moves the ball around the pitch well. He can also make good runs ahead of the ball when he is freed up from his defensive duties. With such a good attitude, Nathan is a player who can progress from the underage League of Ireland ranks to having a good college career in the states.
