Since joining Phoenix, Oliver has been a highly valuable and proactive member, bringing tremendous energy to the team. While supporting my coaching sessions, he successfully integrated engaging drills with technical catching and passing skills, creating a dynamic learning environment for our players aged 14–18.

Oliver takes feedback exceptionally well and consistently strives to improve the quality of his coaching each week. He is reflective, conscientious, polite, and brings a consistent, impactful presence to every session.

Oliver leverages his experience playing rugby at the Hong Kong national youth level and at the Hong Kong Sports Institute to effectively teach essential catching and passing skills for touch. He has been exceptional at breaking down these skill sets into progressive development plans tailored to each player's level across the four months before he returned to focus on his final year at school.

As the Director of Youth Pathways at Kowloon Rugby Club, Head of Youth at the Sai Kung

Stingrays, and Team Manager of the Under 18 Kowloon team, I am pleased to submit this

statement in support of Oliver More, a valued member of the Under 18 boys Kowloon Rugby

team in Hong Kong.

Oliver previously played for the Sai Kung Stingrays, where he represented the club at Mini, and

Junior Youth levels from Under 6 to Under 16. Throughout his tenure, Oliver played a pivotal

role in the development of his teams. Notably, as an Under 16 player, he contributed to an

innovative project that combined players from various clubs in the New Territories to form the

Kowloon Barbarians. Competing in the Hysan Boys Youth League, both at 15-a-side and 7-a-

side formats, he significantly enhanced his game understanding and developed essential

individual attributes.

Oliver’s growth as a player has been instrumental in the success of the squad, creating more

opportunities for teammates to stay engaged in the sport and develop their rugby skills. His

dedication and contributions helped the team achieve league titles, secure Grand Championship

Trophies and play in showcase finals at the Hong Kong Sevens over the past three seasons.

His consistent involvement and progress have established him as a recognised player within the

Player Development Academy Pathway coordinated by Hong Kong China Rugby (HKCR). As a

pathway player, Oliver participates in weekly training sessions with top coaches, deepening his

knowledge in skills, strength and conditioning, and player management. This commitment has

not only facilitated his personal development but also earned him a place in the Under 20

training squad—a testament to his years of hard work and determination. Additionally, he has

successfully competed against international players, representing HKCR in the prestigious

annual New Year’s Day Trophy at Hong Kong Football Club.

It has been a pleasure to witness Oliver’s ongoing development, and I have no doubt he will

continue to find success in rugby at the Under 18 level and beyond.
