Zhai Glackin (DOB: 29/12/2008) is a highly promising young footballer currently playing as a Left Back for Pescara Calcio Academy in Italy’s Serie B system. Standing at 5ft11 and weighing 70kg, Zhai combines athleticism, intelligence, and relentless energy to excel in both defensive and attacking phases of the game. Zhai began his football journey at the age of five, developing his early skills with Oxford United before progressing to Derry City FC Academy.
His talent quickly became evident, earning him selection for the Northern Ireland Supercup team in 2024, where he played a key role in an outstanding campaign that saw the team finish runners-up, notably defeating Manchester United along the way. Following this success, Zhai was headhunted by Linfield FC, one of the top clubs in the Northern Ireland Football League, where he continued his development and achieved further success. His honours include victories in the prestigious Foyle Cup, the Irish League Shield with Derry City, and the Northern Ireland U21 League title with Linfield FC.
Now at Pescara Calcio, Zhai has continued to build on his impressive career, most recently winning the Abruzzo Italian Tournament. Primarily a Left Back, he thrives in a Left Wing Back role, using his exceptional stamina and drive to dominate the flanks. His ability to surge forward while maintaining defensive discipline makes him a constant threat and a dependable presence.
